• Instead of mailing paper holiday cards this year, BPK&Z created an electronic card and made a contribution to Second Harvest Heartland.
  
  
• Laura Gust recently earned the professional designation of Certified Specialist in Estate Planning™ (CSEP). This designation was awarded by The National Institute for Excellence in Professional Education, LLC, in conjunction with various state societies of CPAs and Surgent and Associates, LLC.
  
  
• The Business Valuation team published another edition of “Value Point”, an easy to understand newsletter on the technical aspects of business valuations.
  
  
• John Edson wrote the article “Will Your Business Valuation Meet the Needs and Requirements?” It appeared in October 2011 issue of The Scratchpad, the official newsletter of MPMA.

• John Edson authored the article “Focus on Niche Areas and Reduced Debt for Higher Values,” which appeared in the July 2011 issue of Construction Views, the official newsletter of the Minnesota Construction Association.

• John Edson authored the article “Focus on Cash Flow and Revenues for Higher Value,” which appeared in the May 2011 issue of Parameters, the official newsletter of ACEC-MN.
  
  
• The Business Valuation team published the first edition of “Value Point”, an easy to understand newsletter on the technical aspects of business valuations.
  
  
• On February 11, 2011, John Edson participated in a Business Valuation Q&A with the members of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association.
  
  
• John Edson was elected to the board of the Education Fund of the Minnesota Society of CPAs and to the board of TwinWest Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
