Gary Turnquist, CPA

Expertise
Gary leads several initiatives at the firm because of his ability to think strategically, come up with fresh ideas, and make sure everything happens. He is in charge of the firm’s Business Process and Profit Improvement Service area, leads the Manufacturing Team, and heads up Services for Not-for-Profit Organizations. He has worked with organizations in start-up mode and rolled up his sleeves at multi-million dollar companies. His areas of expertise include manufacturing, not-for-profit, retail, distribution, professional services, and internal controls.

Background
A native Minnesotan, Gary is a graduate of Metropolitan State University. He joined the BPK&Z team in 1989, after working in cost accounting for a manufacturing company and internal auditing for a national retail mail order firm. He became a shareholder in 2001. A member of the American Society of CPAs and the Minnesota Society of CPAs, Gary also participates in the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association, the Manufacturers’ Alliance, and the Chaska Chamber of Commerce and has founded a networking group at the Medina Golf and Country Club.
