“Due to the ever-changing nature of federal and state tax laws, every year I learn something new to help my clients in their tax planning efforts. Even though we may work with businesses in the same industry, each situation and client is unique. I enjoy helping my clients through the tax planning aspects of changes in their business such as a merger and acquisition and also with any new challenges or opportunities they may encounter.”
Shareholder and tax guru Grant Tentis is always up-to-date on the latest tax issues and changes affecting his clients. Working closely with other team members, Grant researches and advises clients on the tax implications of possible business decisions and works with them to be proactive in taking advantage of any new tax laws or changes in their tax planning. Grant reviews federal, state and local returns, researches tax issues and represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service.
Grant also works with the Business Valuation group, which prepares business valuations for purposes of buying or selling a business, gift and estate purposes, buy/sell agreements, purchase price allocations and intangible impairment testing or shareholder disputes.
His 20 years of experience began at a large regional public accounting firm. He then went on to the corporate tax department of a Fortune 500 company and came full circle joining BPK&Z in 2000. Grant and the tax team are focused on maximizing tax benefits while minimizing tax burdens for their clients. Effective tax strategies allow clients to take full advantage of tax law changes and make the best possible tax planning decisions.
When Grant isn’t unraveling the latest tax laws, he coaches youth hockey, enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.
