John Edson, CPA/ABV, CMA, CVA, CFF

John has been a shareholder at BPK&Z for over 25 years, advising clients on accounting, auditing and tax services that help them reap the benefits and rewards of their work. As a CPA accredited in business valuation (ABV) and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) John leads the firm’s Business Valuation department and prepares business valuations for purposes of buying or selling a business, gift and estate purposes, buy/sell agreements, purchase price allocations and intangible impairment testing or shareholder disputes. He also consults in the area of merger and acquisitions and provides due diligence services.

John coordinates accounting, tax and audit services for a range of industries including, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, professional services, construction and real estate development. With over 30 years of experience in the accounting field, working for both large national and local public accounting firms, John’s breadth of knowledge in the field makes him a much sought after speaker at industry events on the topics of business growth and life cycle, succession planning and business valuation.

Serving the communities in which he lives and works is important to John. When he isn’t busy advising clients on tax and accounting issues, John can be found fishing or walking through the woods turkey hunting.
