Expertise
A shareholder since 1986, John advises accounting, auditing and tax clients and coordinates services in a range of industries, including manufacturing, wholesale distribution, professional services, software development, construction, and real estate development.

As a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), John directs the firm’s Business Valuation department and calculates business values for various purposes including gift and estate purposes, and buying or selling a business. John also provides merger and acquisition consulting, including due diligence services.

Background
A University of Minnesota graduate, John has been in public accounting since 1977. He worked at both a large national firm and a local firm in Rochester before joining BPK&Z in 1983.

John is a former Chair of the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA), is the Minnesota Member for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is the former Chairman of the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Human Care Board of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.

He is a frequent speaker to industry groups on the topics of business growth and life cycle, succession planning, and business valuation.
