“It’s rewarding to work with clients over the years and see them reap the benefits of good tax planning. Through proper planning and execution, we can provide them with various alternatives to reduce both individual and business income and taxes.”
John has been helping individuals and businesses with their tax planning efforts since joining BPK&Z in 1991. As a shareholder since 2001, and also a Tax Practice Leader, John is responsible for coordinating tax services in the firm, planning tax department operations and handling complex IRS tax return audits. John also leads the firm’s professional services area where his team provides the information needed so firms can make the best financial decisions possible for their current and future growth.
Helping clients reduce their tax burden by being proactive in their tax planning is important to John. With over 20 years of experience and a Masters degree in Business Taxation from the Carlson School of Management, John understands how proper tax planning is critical to a client’s bottom line. As a designated Certified Financial Planner, he also works with clients to clarify and plan for their financial future. With proper planning, John believes his clients are in the position to make good financial decisions for their future.
John is an active member of his community and currently serves on the finance committee of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in St. Paul. He also completed his first marathon in 2008 by running the Twin Cities Marathon in October. A repeat performance is still under consideration.
